Tekkit Minecraft Server Now Available

On behalf of Thinking Man, we now have a shiny new Minecraft server up and running. Due to the amount of bandwidth that these servers use, this will only be available for constantly contributing members. I am in the process of determining a good price for this based on bandwidth usage. As of right now you will need to be on the $10/month recurring donation. Any member that does not continue donating will be pulled from the whitelist.

This server is a Tekkit server which requires the Technic Launcher. Technic/Tekkit is a modpack for Minecraft that includes many of the best mods for Minecraft all conveniently in one package. Some of the major mods included in this pack are:

Industrial Craft
Computer Craft
RailCraft
RedPower
Forestry
BuildCraft

On behalf of Thinking Man, I would like to announce that our server is now in the rack at our collocation site. Sinnathas and myself are working really hard on getting everything up as soon as possible.

The GunGame server is now available on the new server. Keep in mind we are still doing some testing so there may be times the server will have to be restarted. We have also increased the size of the server to 24 players. The current connect information for the server is as follows:

I would like to inform everyone that the server will be on its way to the new data center tomorrow.

The server has had many upgrades since she has been residing at my home with me. We have added an addition 16 GB of RAM totaling 32 GB. We have also upgraded to a new PCI-E RAID card.

This should allow us to run all the games that we currently play and have plenty of room for expansion. We will be moving the web server over as well, so when that time comes expect a little down time on the website.

With the momentum that Thinking Man has been moving coupled with my studies, I have not had the time to express my sincere gratitude for the number of members that have stepped up to the plate in recent months.

I would like to thank everyone involved with the launch of the new website. All the beta testers that helped Sinnathas and myself squash most of the bugs. Also, those who helped populate our forum with the useful content from the old site and bring new stream lined content to our present one. Without you all we could not have brought this project to a reality.
